Lockhart Auction & Realty, LLC was founded In 1932 by Si Lockhart. Located in Colorado, the business has continually grown over the years. The auction business is our only business and we know it well!

Currently, Cookie Lockhart divides her time between Colorado and California.

Forty years of successful auction experiences has given Cookie a complete range of comprehensive understanding of the business. She has a formal auction education and keeps up with modern technology. She has fortitude, determination, and strong adherence to business ethics, principles, and standards.

  • In 2007, Cookie became the first woman ever to be inducted in the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame!
  • Member of the National Auctioneers Association since the 1950s and has attended countless conventions and educational seminars.
  • Member of the Colorado Auctioneers' Association since the early 1960s, served on the board for 18 years, served as President.
  • In 2002, Cookie was inducted into the Colorado Auctioneers' Hall of Fame.
  • Real estate broker in Colorado since 1971.
  • CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) in 1981.
  • CES designation in 2004.
  • GPPA designation in 2006.
  • AARE designation in 2006.
  • Active in Chamber of Commerce in past (many events).
  • Rotarian for 16 years.
  • Community activities have been many, including, but not limited to, selling Kiwanis, Rotary, Schools, Church, numerous other charity auctions.
  • 2007 President, Daniel Island Toastmasters Club.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of the Reisch World Wide School of Auctioneering in 1963, guest instructor in 2003.
  • Graduate of Indiana University (continuous education requirements and member in good standing).
  • Expert witness classes held in Charleston, South Carolina in 2006.

  • Cookie is single and has two grown daughters. Jean is a captain on boat in Alaska. Jo is married and works in the auction business, primarily as a benefit auctioneer. She has a degree in BAS (Benefit Auction Specialist).
  • In 2007, Cookie became the first woman ever to be inducted in the National Auctioneers Hall of Fame!
  • Appeared on the "To Tell the Truth" TV show in 1966. Only Kitty Carlyle guessed the real auctioneer was Cookie Lockhart!
  • Judged numerous auction contests: International for NAA, Canada and state contests including 2006 South Carolina.
  • Grand Marshall of last year's 4th of July Parade and Rodeo.
  • 2007 documentary features Cookie as True Auction Royalty and Colorado Queen.
  • Book written in late 2006, "Lilies of Our Valley", features Cookie as "a lady who made a difference."
  • Many articles written about Cookie from riding her horse in Steamboat Springs as a child to being known as the Nation's Leading Lady Auctioneer.
  • Hobbies are swimming, boating, riding for cattle, and learning to play golf.
